Confessional 2025: Celebrating a Decade of Music and Arts in Blackburn

Back and better than ever, The Confessional team returns for a special 10th anniversary celebration—two unforgettable days in our original beloved home, Holy Trinity Church. We’re doing what we do best: bringing cutting-edge music and artistic expression into a sacred, atmospheric space. We’re curating a weekend packed with the best of the grassroots music scene, staying true to the Confessional trademark of catching great bands just before their next big breakthrough. Boundary-pushing creativity, and heartfelt community spirit — and 2025 promises to be our most ambitious year yet.

While the 2025 artist bill is still under wraps, Confessional are known for starting the “I saw them in a room full of 500 people” conversation. Past editions have welcomed standout acts like Rianne Downey, Brooke Combe, Working Men’s Club, Calva Louise, The Incredible 7 Hip Hop & R&B Band, and Red Rum Club. Expect the unexpected — from post-punk to hip hop, indie to experimental — all handpicked with care.

On a mission to resurrect Blackburn’s live music scene, the Confessional crew have popped up in some of Blackburn’s most eclectic spaces — from Churches to the Cotton Exchange, and even The Crypt at Blackburn Cathedral. But this year we’re heading back to where it all began, Holy Trinity Church. Stained glass windows, cathedral acoustics, and a venue that feels as spiritual as it is electric. It’s the very first venue to host Confessional, a cornerstone in our story, and its only right that our 10th anniversary returns to this iconic space on the 12th and 13th of September 2025.

Music is just the beginning. With curated art installations, a buzzing community bar, and the spirit of celebration around every corner, Confessional is more than a festival — it’s a shared experience.

Tickets: Available Friday May 30th at 9am via Fatsoma (www.fatsoma.com) and Confessional (www.confessionalfestival.co.uk)
