Freak Slug

Freak Slug is the project of Xenya Genovese, exploring a unique blend of sounds and emotions—from nostalgic, ’90s-inspired dreaminess to eccentric, experimental textures. With over 70 million streams, she has gained strong support from BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, and KEXP, among others.

Following a highly successful North American tour and drawing the largest crowd at the British Music Embassy/BBC stage at SXSW 2025, Freak Slug has secured major UK festival appearances including The Great Escape, End of the Road, Green Man, and Live at Leeds. Her performances are raw, authentic, sometimes weird, but always totally true self-expression.
